Creating the admin account on WordPress

Once the installation is complete, you’ll have the opportunity to create your account, as shown in upper. In previous versions, the first user was always called ‘admin,’ but as of version 3.0, you can choose your own username for this account.

Log in using the password you just created (Figure 2-7). You should see your Dashboard with a message at the top prompting you to choose a more easily remembered password (Figure 2-8). We’ll go over the Dashboard and the rest of the WordPress settings in the next chapter.
